2.1 A booking is confirmed when we have received your deposit (currently £30 per course) or full payment, and sent you written confirmation by email.
2.2 By booking, you confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you have read these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refunds, Cancellations and Transfers Policy.
2.3 If you are booking on behalf of an employer or another person, you confirm you have their authority to do so.
3.1 Prices are shown on our website in pounds sterling and [include / do not include] VAT.
3.2 Your remaining balance must be paid by the date shown in your booking confirmation. You can also pay in instalments through Clearpay, under Clearpay's own terms.
3.3 If the balance is not paid on time, we may offer your place to someone else and our Refunds, Cancellations and Transfers Policy will apply.
4.1 For SIA licence-linked courses you must be 18 or over and meet the SIA's English language requirement. You must bring valid identification that meets SIA and awarding body rules. We will tell you what ID is accepted before your course.
4.2 If you cannot provide acceptable ID, you will not be able to sit the assessments. This is a regulatory requirement and not something we can waive.
4.3 Some courses have prerequisites (for example, a current first aid qualification before Door Supervision or Security Guarding). It is your responsibility to hold these, and we will explain them when you book.
5.1 SIA courses have minimum guided learning hours set by the SIA. You must attend every session in full. If you miss time, you may be unable to take the assessments and may need to rebook.
5.2 We may remove anyone from a course whose behaviour is abusive, discriminatory, unsafe or disruptive, or who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No refund is due in that case.
5.3 Malpractice in assessments (such as cheating, impersonation or using unauthorised materials) will be reported to the awarding organisation and may lead to disqualification.
6.1 Assessments are set and quality-assured by the awarding organisation. We cannot guarantee a pass.
6.2 Certificates are issued by the awarding organisation. We will register you and request your certificate once your results are confirmed.
6.3 Passing a course does not automatically give you an SIA licence. You must apply to the SIA yourself, and the SIA makes its own decision, including identity and criminality checks.
6.4 Course fees are not refunded if you do not pass. Resit arrangements and any resit fees are shown on the course page or available from us on request.
Some courses include online learning through our Moodle learner portal. You must keep your login details private and must not share course materials, which are protected by copyright.
We may need to change a trainer, venue or timetable. If we make a significant change or cancel a course, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund of the money you have paid for that course.
9.1 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law.
9.2 We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses where you booked as a consumer.
9.3 Your legal rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, are not affected by these terms.
If you are unhappy, please see our Complaints and Appeals page.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
